Important aspects of the D750:

  • This camera is a step up from the D600 and D610.
  • I had bought D600 new but I bought the D750 used. The D750 is still a great value at the new camera price if you want a traditional DSLR. A lot more feature and advances features for a lower price.
  • There was a service advisory for the darkened frames shutter thing.
  • From a camera body and design, its similar to D7000 series as is the D600 and D610.
  • Dual SD memory card slots that I like. Great for backup or splitting types of files between cards.
  • The command dial has u1/u2 custom user modes that save all settings for a given base mode you push to them. I use this feature a lot.
  • I haven’t used the advanced Nikon DSLR cameras much, so I can’t include a comparison.
  • The body is improved over the D600. It feels thinner, stronger, and more solid. The grip is a lot better… but the cameras are basically the same size.
  • There is a tilting screen for above or below shots.
  • No screen protector like the D600. I use a cell phone screen protector cut to size.
  • Customization: AE-L/AF-L button. The My Menu top setting can be assigned to a button. I use it for quick access to ISO settings.
  • The EN-EL15 battery format has been used for a long time through their more advanced cameras, which is nice.
  • AF is vastly improved over the D600, larger area, -3 ev, darker light.
  • LCD screen is much improved over the D600: sharper, more colorful. Keep in mind that the D610 is also better than D600 screen.
  • Camera body overall feels more solid. The grip is deeper making it easier to confidently hold.
  • Textured AF mode button is nice, better than smooth D600 button.
  • Frequency response for audio in videos. That can be set to wide or vocal range.
  • 60 fps 1080p video available.
  • There is an “i” button, but also and info button. They allow quicker access to features important to the mode you are in.
  • “i” button: In live view you can adjust image area, image quality, exposure preview.
  • “i” button: In video mode you can adjust image area, frame rate, compression level.
  • “i” button: Other settings are multi selector power aperture, highlight preview.
  • Info button: Both in live view and video mode, grid lines, horizon level, etc. Video has histogram and limited overlay. Video mode settings have highlight display and zebra lines.
  • Autofocus modes: Single shot, continuous, and automatic.
  • AF in video and live view is lackluster. Don’t expect to get anything useful out of video when trying to use auto-focus.
  • The specific AF modes in video are AF-S and AF-F (continuous). With that there there are settings for point sizes, face tracking and automatic tracking.
  • In bracketing mode you can use the dedicated button. In that case you hold the button down and use the dials to adjust details.
  • There is Wifi on this camera. The Android app is called Nikon WMU. You can copy photos and take photos, but the app is extremely limited.
  • One stand-out feature is the two button press and hold to format SD cards. Once the top LCD starts flashing you can use the dial to select which card to format. Double press again to initiate the formatting process. I use it a lot before a photo outing.
  • Viewfinder diopter dial is easy to accidentally hit, standard to this series of camera.
  • The tilting screen lowers the whether resistance. I would have prefered this camera to have a screen like the D5000 series of camera.
  • They removed the wireless remote feature from the secondary command ring like it was on the D600. They replaced with the Qc function (quiet continuous shutter).
  • Don’t expect live view auto-focus to be quick on their camera line. The D750 is serviceable for single point focus in photo mode.
  • This is a great feeling camera. Super versatile, all of the video mode feature vastly improved over the D600.
  • 24 mega-pixels is a good balance of resolution and ease of processing.
  • This camera is a mixture of great design, screen dual card slots. The best Nikon I’ve used yet. Though, I haven’t used their most advanced cameras much.

EF-M Sigma 56mm vs. Viltrox 56mm

I was curious how the two native Canon EF-M 56mm f/1.4 lenses compared. Is one better in image quality or features than the other? 7Artisans 50mm f/1.8 for Nikon Z-mount Overview

In this overview, I'm taking a look at the 7Artisans 50mm f/1.8 lens for the Nikon Z system. Is it worth considering over the official Nikon Z 50mm f/1.8s lens?
